Mold Tool and Die Builder

Mold tool and die builders reference technical drawings and both pre-manufactured and purchased parts needed for the assembly and alteration of various raw and finished materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy prior to production.
  • Assembling, modeling, and finishing both raw and finished materials by hand.
  • Working on lay-up, roll, forming, and assembling of fiberglass as needed.
  • Reading and understanding assembly instructions to ensure the parts meet engineering and customer specifications while maintaining quality control standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Specialized certification preferred.
  • Proficient in verbal and electronic communication, including Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable using rotary and automatic tools, including: routers, drills, saws, grinders, press. etc.
  • Familiar or quick to learn various kinds of fabrication, including: molds, dies, and assembly fixtures.
  • Comfortable working with overhead crane, forklift, press, and chemicals while wearing corresponding PPE.
  • Proficient in operation of heavy machinery or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance on operational and technical challenges while managing time efficiently.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities, including: close vision, color vision, and ability to quickly adjust focus.
  • Physical stamina to properly operate an overhead crane, forklift, rotary hand tools, and perform assembly.
  • Pre-employment drug screening.
  • Pre-employment background screening.

Pay and Benefits

  • $22-$28 per hour, depending on experience.

Work Environment:

A full-time onsite position at a manufacturing environment in Mansfield, OH. Work is floor-based in an open manufacturing floor setting with maintained temperatures to a limited capacity and requires standing at a machine for extended periods of time. This position is project-based and sometimes involves working with tight deadlines, last-minute changes, and multiple projects at once. Possible offsite equipment training required when necessary.
